For many years, women have been underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) jobs. Although digital economy offers opportunities for female empowerment and equal participation in the labour market, there is still a significant gender divide regarding female working in STEM areas, which require advanced digital skills.
The FUTURE WOMEN project aims at raising awareness on the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy and barriers constraining women’s digital empowerment, to support female students in pursuing careers linked to digital economy and self-employment, particularly in STEM fields and Information and Communication Technologies. The project also provides resources to equip career counsellors to better support these students.
