Empowering women for equal participation and driving change
About
Women and girls everywhere must have equal rights, opportunities, and live free of violence and discrimination. There are gender gaps related to political empowerment and economic participation and opportunity, with women facing fewer opportunities than men in all categories. Women’s equality and empowerment is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but it is also integral to all dimensions of inclusive and sustainable development.
Considering this, VOICES project is designed to empower women to play an active role in all public and private life spheres, by providing them with customised learning opportunities developed to prompt gender-equitable participation in society.
Target Audience
- Disadvantaged women
- Professionals working with women and gender issues
Activities
- Creation of a Competences roadmap and resources on gender equality and women empowerment for local learning networks
- Development of thematic massive open online courses (MOOCs) to support women and professionals working with them on raising awareness on key areas for women’s empowerment
- Establishment of a Digital learning hub where all the resources developed under the project are available for women and professionals
